Balcony restoration becomes necessary when concrete remains unprotected from water/salt infiltration, allowing moisture into the slab -causing erosion of the metal reinforcement bars (rebar) within the concrete. This corrosion of the rebar then breaks the surrounding concrete apart, (called a spall or delamination), requiring repair. The materials necessary to affect repairs and the actual method of repair are important aspects to restoring them fully. BDA uses exact specifications and only the best of repair materials in balcony restoration - for a repair with longevity. This includes full balcony replacements, if required. Waterproofing or membrane installations to the suspended slabs are commonly applied after the repairs have been carried out - to protect the concrete and defer future maintenance costs.
